I had the word Tasty. I think it is successful because Ice cream is pretty tasty. 1st layer- tissue paper 2nd layer- strips of newspaper comics. 3rd layer- bubbler rap texture with acrylic paint 4th layer- butterfly stamps with orange ink. 5th layer- cut paper in the shape of an ice cream cone 6th layer- glitter! 7th layer- sponge and acrylic paint. I worked with Alexa Ateshian. I took the photos and Alexa and I both did the drawings! This video was successful because it portrayed the story line that both of us wanted to get across. And it looked like a stop motion. I would change the medium we used. We used a white board and I feel like it looked rushed and messy. It was a fun project! (We could not get the video to post on here so it was emailed to you) My limitation was I could only use my thumb prints out side of the glasses part. Inside of the lenses I used a brush to make the circles. I was able to overcome the limitation and make it colorful and look ok! Newspaper Art- •I learned that Newspaper can make awesome art! •This piece is successful because it made me look at art in a different way and be able to express art through everyday objects. •I might consider changing and adding more newspaper to the piece. Object Art In Sketch Book •I learned again that you can make art out of basically anything! •This piece was successful because it captured the essence of the art of nature. •I would add a more variety of color to brighten up the piece. Styrogami- •I learned that you can look at random everyday objects in different ways to make something really cool! Most everything can be turned into art or different forms of art. •Thie piece is successful because I accomplished making art out of something that people wouldn't normally think to make art out of. •I would change the fact that it still kind of looks like the styrofoam cup. Next time I will completely change the shape of the cup. The difference between getting "inspiration" from another piece and "stealing" an idea is in a video we watched, the guy said that no art is original. All art come from preexisting Art. So when you use others art for inspiration, you are simply making the art your own. It's taking art work and imagining it in different ways than the last person. When you steal an art piece, you take others ideas and keep them the way the original artist saw it. You are taking the idea and putting your name on it. I think that it is okay to use part of a peice if you make it your own. Like I said before, it's using the art work as inspiration because there really isn't new art just new ways to interpret the art. I combined an Elephant and Butterfly's. I picked these two mediums because I really enjoy painting Elephants, I love the way they look and the way elephants are built. I chose butterfly's because they have vibrant colors and I thought the colors of a butterfly would even out the grey of the Elephant. One thing I would change about my piece is the background. I don't really enjoy the way the background turned out at all and if I could I would go back and change where the elephant and butterfly's location is. I think the most successful thing about my piece is the watercolor techniques. I like how the wet on wet turned out and saran wrap on the paint made the elephants texture.
