This is a mixed media piece that includes nature, paint, string, newspaper, magazines, and hot glue.
This is my Perspective piece.I did it with pencil and It is of the back of the Apex High Building. I did not get a chance to finish this.
Alexa and I did a shell project together. Our theme was "Happy" and we painted them, wrote happy messages on the inside and put them around downtown apex to spread joy.
QUESTION 1- The art work I am most proud of is probably the perspective picture i drew. I really loved the way the bricks turned out and the values and shading that was done on them. I enjoyed drawing perspective because it felt like there was a "solution" to doing it and a fixed way to draw buildings. It took a lot of patience to draw the lines and do the bricks, but i think it is turning out to be my most favorite. Even though it is not finished, I feel good about the work I have done so far and i look forward to completing it in the future.
QUESTION 2- The lesson that was the most challenging for me was the figure drawing lesson. This lesson was hard for me because i had never drawn a figure before. I had never done any body or face proportions before and by learning and doing those for the first time, it was super challenging. I found it extremely hard to draw a face. Every time i tried to draw a face, i could not get the hair line right or the nose right and it never looked like a person, just more like an alien. Figures were easier to draw than faces but still hard. The proportions using the heads for references were a great technique but then I ended up drawing the heads all different sizes. I never ended up getting a knack for drawing faces and figures.
QUESTION 3- I loved art three. By taking this many art classes i feel like i have grown and learned in ways i never thought i would be able to. I came into art three with what Rossi and Sudkamp have taught me and I expanded and grew from there. I had also got the chance to use mediums I had never used before in a class and it was so amazing to be able to use and experiment with what i can do with art. The amount of techniques i was exposed to and the patience i had to gain from art was outstanding and not only art lessons, but also life lessons. Putting myself in situations i did not like and thinking i would fail at was something i had never wanted to do before art. Art three allowed me to be surrounded by amazing artists that had great opinions and helped me grow by being around their work. I grew as an artist and person.
