We used the medium oil pastel to draw a Fanta soda can. I had to draw in the lights and the darks and find the light source to make the drawing realistic.
I developed my art making skills-
Did you learn new techniques or processes as part of the work for this project? I learned many new techniques thought this project. One of the main things I learned was how to draw two point and three point perspective pictures. Before this project I was forever wondering how artists created these mind-boggling pictures that look 3D and now I know! I know how to draw cities and draw things going off into the distance. I loved doing this project and I’m so glad I now have this skill. We Collaborate- Did you ask another student for feedback during your work process? I did ask some other students for help with my project. I asked Devin and Alexa for their opinion on the shading and choice of cereal boxes to draw. They helped me a lot with the overall look of my piece. I got the advice to put with cereal box where and they also helped me with shading. They told me to darken up some spots or lighten. They also gave me pointers on the look of the road and the sky. I learned that using the advice of people around you will help you immensely with you’re art piece. Other peoples will point things out things that you might not even catch the first time and it will make your entire piece look better. I Reflect Did you consider how ideas would work before you tried them? I made three thumbnail sketches before creating my actual piece. I had a lot of my ideas laid out on the thumbnails before drawing. The sketches help a lot because I really realized what looked good and what needed to be discarded. I asked some people around me what they thought of the sketches to get other peoples opinions before making a final decision. I considered just doing regular buildings and cereal box buildings, which was a big decision. Reflecting over your art work is a crucial step in making an art piece better. |
